West Bank Attack Survivor Recounts Violent Struggle with Palestinian Assailant
Natanel Yaakov, who was injured in a stabbing attack in the village of Azzun in the Samaria region, described his dramatic fight with the assailant. Yaakov stated that the attacker waited for him and began stabbing him. "I fought him, I punched him and pushed him until we both fell to the ground," Yaakov recounted. He attempted to grab a rock to hit the attacker but failed. During the struggle, the knife broke, and the attacker continued to stab with the blade alone. Yaakov managed to grab and choke the assailant, who then broke free and fled towards his car.
Following the attacker's escape, IDF forces launched searches and set up roadblocks in the area. An IDF force located the assailant near his vehicle in the village of Idna. After the attacker attempted to stab the soldiers, a company commander from the 411th Battalion shot and killed him.
The attack occurred in the Samaria region, a mountainous area in the northern West Bank. The IDF continues to operate in the area to maintain security and prevent further attacks.
