SAS Scandinavian Airlines Resumes Flights to Tel Aviv

SAS Scandinavian Airlines will resume direct flights between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen, Denmark, starting October 26, 2026. The flights will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, according to a Ynet report on Sunday, September 6. The flights will utilize Airbus A320neo aircraft, with options for economy and business class.

This marks SAS's second attempt to re-establish service to Tel Aviv. The airline had previously restarted flights to Israel on October 26, 2025, after a decade-long hiatus. However, after operating three flights per week for a few months in late 2025 and early 2026, SAS suspended its operations in the region again.

Ticket prices from Tel Aviv to Copenhagen and back start at 440 euros per person, excluding checked baggage. A small carry-on suitcase incurs an additional fee. Flights during the Christmas holiday period are more expensive, with tickets for December 23-30, 2026, currently priced from 575 euros, also excluding carry-on baggage.

SAS is not the only foreign airline returning to Ben Gurion Airport in the fall of 2026. Delta Air Lines restarted daily flights between New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Tel Aviv on Sunday, September 6. United Airlines plans to resume service on September 8 with two daily flights between Newark and Tel Aviv. In contrast, American Airlines has postponed its return to Israel until the end of March 2027.
