SAS Resumes Flights to Israel with Increased Frequency

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to re-establish its direct route between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen starting October 26th, following a months-long hiatus. The airline will operate four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday evenings, a higher frequency than before the route was suspended. These flights will utilize Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering both economy and business class options.

SAS had previously resumed service to Tel Aviv on October 26, 2025, after more than a decade, initially with three weekly flights, but suspended operations in the region a few months later. Current round-trip fares for flights between October 26th and 30th are priced at $805 per person for a carry-on bag only, excluding checked luggage. For travel during the Christmas period, specifically December 23rd to 30th, fares are available for $673 per person, also without checked luggage.

Copenhagen is a popular destination, particularly during the Christmas season, partly due to its renowned Tivoli Gardens Christmas market. The return of SAS aligns with a broader trend of foreign airlines resuming services to Ben Gurion Airport. Delta is relaunching its New York to Israel flights with a daily service from JFK to Tel Aviv, and United is scheduled to return on September 8th with two daily flights from Newark. American Airlines, however, has postponed its return to Israel until late March 2027.
