SAS Airlines to Resume Direct Flights to Israel with Increased Frequency

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), a major North European airline, has announced the resumption of its direct flights to Israel. Starting with the upcoming winter flight schedule on October 26, 2026, SAS will operate flights between Ben Gurion Airport and its home base in Copenhagen, Denmark. This move signifies a further recovery in international air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport.

SAS is returning to the route with an expanded schedule compared to its previous operations. The airline had initially restarted the direct Tel Aviv-Copenhagen route in October 2025, following a hiatus of over a decade, with only three weekly flights. However, shortly thereafter, SAS was forced to freeze its operations in the Middle East due to the regional security situation.

In its renewed presence, SAS is increasing its commitment by operating four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday evenings. These flights will utilize modern Airbus A320neo aircraft, known for their fuel efficiency and reduced noise levels. Passengers will have the option of traveling in either Economy or Business class.
