Power Cable Disruption Halts Coastal Train Line Between Netanya and Tel Aviv

A single power cable failure on Monday night disrupted train services along a key section of Israel's coastal line, affecting travel between Netanya and Tel Aviv Savidor Center. The incident occurred during electrical work by the Israel Electric Corporation near the community of Kfar Shmaryahu, damaging the railway's power system.

The affected segment connects the cities of Netanya and the Sharon region to Tel Aviv and is also used by trains traveling from northern Israel. The disruption has forced rerouting for numerous passengers.

Israel Railways teams are working on repairing the damaged infrastructure. Initial estimates suggested the repairs would take several hours. Until the work is completed, the railway is operating shuttle buses between the stations of Netanya, Beit Yehoshua, Herzliya, and Tel Aviv Savidor Center.

Passengers are advised to anticipate travel delays and consider alternative transportation. The incident highlights the railway's growing reliance on its electrified infrastructure, as a localized power fault has significantly impacted a major transit artery serving a large number of commuters.
