Train Service Restored After Overnight Power Grid Failure Near Tel Aviv

Train traffic between Tel Aviv Savidor Central and Netanya stations gradually returned to normal on Sunday morning, following an overnight disruption caused by a fault in the power grid near the community of Shefayim. The incident occurred during infrastructure work by the Israel Electric Corporation, when a cable in the railway's electrification system was damaged, leading to a temporary halt in train services on the affected line.

Israel Railways announced at 2:30 AM that teams had been dispatched to repair the damaged cables. Alternative transportation was arranged for passengers at the Tel Aviv Savidor Central, Herzliya, Beit Yehoshua, and Netanya stations, and travelers were advised to consider other modes of transport.

By 6:03 AM, the railway company reported that its teams, working through the night, had successfully restored the system. Train movement on the impacted segment began to resume gradually and was expected to be fully operational later in the morning. The damage was described as localized.
