Power Grid Failure Halts Train Service Between Tel Aviv and Netanya

Significant disruptions affected train services in central Israel on Tuesday after Israel Railways announced a temporary halt to operations between Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station and Netanya Station. The disruption was caused by a damaged cable that impacted the railway's electrification system during infrastructure work conducted by the Israel Electric Corporation in the area of Shapim. The damage necessitated the stoppage of train traffic on the affected segment until repairs are completed.

Professional teams from Israel Railways were dispatched to the scene and are working to restore full power to the system and resume train services. The repair work is expected to take several hours. To mitigate the impact on passengers, shuttle buses have been arranged at Savidor Central, Herzliya, Beit Yehoshua, and Netanya stations as a temporary alternative.

Israel Railways advised passengers to check for service updates before traveling and to consider alternative transportation methods until normal service is restored. The failure affects one of Israel's main and busiest rail corridors, connecting Tel Aviv with the Sharon region and the north, and is expected to cause delays and congestion on parallel transport routes in the coming hours. The company stated that repair work is ongoing and normal service is expected to gradually resume once the repairs are finished.
