Israel's Average Salary Rose in July, Reaching Over NIS 14,500
The average salary for an employed Israeli in July reached approximately 14,561 shekels, marking an increase of 499 shekels or 3.5% compared to July of the previous year. These preliminary estimates were released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
According to the CBS, the number of salaried positions in Israel in July was about 4.233 million. This represents a 0.3% increase from June and a similar 0.3% rise compared to July last year.
The CBS also provided updated figures for June, showing the average salary at 15,218 shekels. This was an increase of 1,086 shekels, or 7.7%, from June 2022.
In the high-tech sector, the average salary in June was 36,584 shekels, an increase of 3,845 shekels or 11.7% year-over-year. The number of high-tech salaried positions in June stood at approximately 396,900, remaining stable from May and showing a slight 0.2% increase from June 2022. High-tech jobs constituted 9.4% of all salaried positions in the economy during June.
