Netanyahu Visits Gaza, Claims Control Over 60% of Strip

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, accompanied by the IDF Chief of Staff, the commanding officer, commanders, and soldiers. During the visit, Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces control 60% of the Gaza Strip and are continuing their operations.

"We are here inside the Gaza Strip, with the Chief of Staff, with the commanding officer, with our heroic commanders and soldiers," Netanyahu said. "We control the area here. You can see Ashkelon there, you can see all our communities from all directions: Sderot, Netivot, the kibbutzim. We control the area."

Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is not withdrawing and will maintain its current position. "We are eliminating the terrorists who threaten us, we do this on a daily basis," he added. He also mentioned the capture of Hamas's head of internal security the previous day, stating, "Yesterday we captured the head of Hamas's internal security, we will learn some things from this."

Regarding Israel's objectives in Gaza, Netanyahu reiterated the goal of dismantling Hamas's military capabilities and demilitarizing the Strip. "We are doing everything to achieve our goal, which is to disarm Hamas, to demilitarize Gaza. Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel. This goal has largely been achieved, there is still work to complete, we will complete it."
