Netanyahu Visits Gaza Border, Vows No Retreat and Strip Demilitarization
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) post near the "Yellow Line" in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, accompanied by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, Southern Command Chief Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman, and the commander of the "Flash" Division, Brig. Gen. Elad Tzuri. The commanders provided Netanyahu with an operational briefing on activities in the sector, efforts to neutralize threats, and maintaining the security of forces and nearby communities.
During the visit, Netanyahu stated that Israel controls the territory and has no intention of withdrawing from the current line. He asserted that IDF forces currently control 60% of the Gaza Strip and are continuously eliminating terrorists, referencing the prior day's elimination of a Hamas security chief.
The Prime Minister concluded that efforts are continuing with full force to achieve the central objective of disarming Hamas and fully demilitarizing the Gaza Strip to prevent any future threats to Israel.
