Netanyahu Vows No Retreat in Gaza Amidst Military Operations

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) outpost near the Gaza border on Wednesday, reaffirming Israel's commitment to dismantling Hamas and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip. During his tour, Netanyahu was briefed by senior military officials, including IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, General Officer Commanding Southern Command Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor, and Commander of the "Flash" (99th) Division Brig. Gen. Elad Tzuri.

The briefings focused on ongoing operational activities along the border, current missions, risk mitigation efforts, and the protection of soldiers and nearby Israeli communities. Netanyahu stated, "We control the area here. You can see Ashkelon from here, you can see all our communities from all directions: Sderot, Netivot, the kibbutzim. We are not retreating. We are staying on this line."

He further asserted that Israel controls 60% of the Gaza Strip and is continuing operations to eliminate threats, citing the recent capture of a Hamas security chief. "We are doing everything to achieve our goal, dismantling Hamas's weaponry and demilitarizing Gaza. Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel. This goal has largely been achieved, and there is still work to be done, and we will complete it," Netanyahu declared.

The Prime Minister's visit and statements underscore Israel's determination to maintain its presence and continue its military objectives in the region, despite potential international pressures or the complexities of the ongoing conflict.
