Son Arrested After Elderly Man Found Stabbed to Death in Rehovot
A man in his 80s was found dead Tuesday morning on Peqi'in Street in Rehovot, in what police suspect was a homicide. The main suspect is his son, a city resident, who lived with him in the same apartment.
Police said they received an early report of a stabbing at an apartment in the city. When officers arrived, they found the victim with stab wounds and no signs of life. Medical teams were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.
Patrol officers arrested the victim’s son, a man in his 40s, at the site on suspicion of involvement in the killing. Police also seized a knife that is believed to have been used in the attack.
MDA senior medic and motorcycle unit member Roy Ben Shoshan said paramedics arrived with police and found the man unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing. “We carried out medical checks, his injury was critical and we had to declare him dead at the scene,” he said.
