Man Arrested in Rehovot After Father, 84, Is Stabbed to Death
A man in his 40s was arrested Tuesday in Rehovot on suspicion that he killed his father, an 84-year-old man, in their shared apartment. According to the suspicion, the son himself called Magen David Adom and reported that he had stabbed his father.
The incident unfolded around midday, when police and MDA teams rushed to the apartment after the emergency call. When responders arrived, they found the father unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, and with stab wounds on his body. Medics carried out medical checks but pronounced him dead at the scene.
Rehovot MDA station manager paramedic Yehuda Ben Avraham and senior medic Roy Ben Shoshan said, "We joined the police who led us to the man lying unconscious with no pulse and no breathing. We performed medical checks, his injury was critical, and we had to pronounce him dead at the scene."
Police said officers from the Rehovot station reached the scene after the stabbing report, found the victim lifeless, and arrested the suspect, a city resident in his 40s, on suspicion of involvement. A knife was seized at the scene, apparently used in the attack. Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances and are examining the motive. The suspect is expected to appear in court for a remand hearing.
