84-Year-Old Man Stabbed to Death in Rehovot; Son Arrested

Magen David Adom crews were called Tuesday, September 24, 2024, to an apartment in Rehovot after an 84-year-old man was found unconscious with penetrating injuries. Paramedics determined he had no pulse and was not breathing, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police arrested the victim’s son, a Rehovot resident in his 40s, on suspicion of murdering his father in their apartment. Officers also seized the knife that investigators believe was used in the attack.

According to the report, the suspect, who is known to welfare authorities and has a psychiatric background, was the one who called MDA. He told dispatchers, “I stabbed my father after we argued.”

Senior MDA medic Roi Ben Shushan, from the organization’s motorcycle unit, said police guided the team to the man lying unconscious. “We conducted medical checks, the injury was critical, and we had no choice but to declare him dead on the spot,” he said.
