Man Arrested for Brutally Stabbing Father to Death in Central Israel
The Central District Prosecutor's Office filed a murder indictment against a man identified as A., a resident of central Israel, accusing him of intentionally killing his father under aggravating circumstances. The incident occurred on June 16, when the suspect visited his father's home. They were sitting on the porch, smoking and talking, when the suspect suddenly took a 19 cm kitchen knife from the kitchen, concealed it, and returned to the porch. When the father noticed the knife, he stood up, and the suspect began stabbing him repeatedly in the neck, face, head, armpit, back, and upper body. Despite the father's attempts to defend himself and plead for mercy, the suspect continued the attack until the father collapsed, bleeding heavily.
The suspect did not stop even after the father fell and kept stabbing him while he lay in a pool of blood. Afterward, the suspect discarded the knife on the kitchen counter, returned home, and called the police emergency line, confessing to the murder and providing his address. Paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced the father dead. Evidence against the suspect includes security camera footage showing his arrival, entry to the kitchen, and departure about 12 minutes later with bloodstains on his shirt. Forensic findings included the victim's blood on the suspect's shoe sole, clothing, and the murder weapon, which also bore the victim's DNA.
During police questioning, the suspect admitted to stabbing his father, claiming "voices in his head" compelled him to act. However, a psychiatric evaluation found him fit to stand trial and responsible for his actions. The indictment also reveals the suspect has 17 prior convictions for violent crimes, property offenses, drug-related charges, and more. His two most recent convictions in 2022 involved violent and property crimes, including assaulting his mother and causing her injuries. The prosecution emphasized the suspect's high danger level and requested his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings. The family expressed love for the suspect despite the tragedy.
