Man Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Father-in-Law During Family Dispute in South Tel Aviv

A 43-year-old man from South Tel Aviv was arrested on January 17, 2026, after allegedly stabbing his father-in-law during a family argument. The incident occurred when the suspect came to pick up his children, who were being cared for by their grandfather. A dispute broke out between the suspect and the grandfather, during which the suspect reportedly pulled a knife and stabbed the man in the abdomen and head.

The emergency call was received around 19:50, and paramedics provided medical treatment at the scene before transporting the grandfather, a man in his 60s, to Ichilov Medical Center in serious but conscious condition. Following a two-hour police search, officers from the South Tel Aviv station located and arrested the suspect.

Police are continuing to gather testimonies from family members and collect evidence from the scene to reconstruct the events. The suspect was taken for questioning at the South Tel Aviv police station, and authorities plan to request an extension of his detention at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court the following day.
