Police Probe Suspected Murder of 84-Year-Old in Rehovot; Son Arrested
Police in Rehovot are investigating a suspected murder after an 84-year-old man was found dead in an apartment in the city. The incident was reported to police just a short time before officers arrived at the scene.
According to the Israel Police, officers from the Rehovot station in the Central District were alerted to a stabbing in a residence in Rehovot. When they reached the apartment, they found the man in his 80s with stab wounds and without signs of life. Medical teams were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.
Police arrested the victim’s son, a Rehovot resident in his 40s, at the scene on suspicion of involvement in the killing. Officers also seized a knife that investigators believe was used in the attack.
The case remains under investigation as police examine the circumstances of the death and the son’s alleged role in the incident.
