Maccabi Tel Aviv Secures James Tavernier, Seeks Left-Back After Roy Revivo's Departure

Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially sold left-back Roy Revivo to Elche, marking the end of his tenure with the club where he contributed to two championship titles. The team is now actively seeking replacements for both full-back positions.

On the right-back front, James Tavernier from Rangers has reportedly agreed to terms. Tavernier, a prominent scorer in the Scottish league, is expected to join Maccabi Tel Aviv as a free agent and reunite with Kenny Miller. While Tavernier is a right-back, his attacking style is seen as a potential replacement for Revivo's creative contributions from the full-back role. Tyreece Asante, who can play right-back, is now expected to feature more as a center-back following Tavernier's arrival.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is also looking to strengthen its right-wing position, aiming to replace Amir Sahiti. In a recent match, Noam Ben Harush played right-back due to Asante's illness.

For the left-back position, the club is prioritizing an Israeli player, with Yahav Gorfinkel being a leading candidate. Noam Ben Harush, capable of playing both full-back positions, is also expected to receive playing time, alongside existing squad member Shahar Rosen. Maccabi Tel Aviv does not anticipate signing a foreign player for the left-back role.

Additionally, the club may sign a foreign center-back before the transfer window closes, with Nikola Maras being a potential candidate to join Mohammed Ali Camara, Raz Shlomo, and Itay Ben Hamo.
