The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of targeted airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, neutralizing three commanders from Hamas's Nukhba special forces unit. Two of the eliminated commanders were involved in the October 7th attacks on Israeli settlements and army outposts. The IDF stated that the strikes targeted specific locations across Gaza.
Earlier in the week, Israeli aircraft killed Anas Akram Muhammad Hamaida, identified as a commander in the Nukhba unit who participated in the capture of the "Sufa" outpost on October 7th. Another strike in northern Gaza eliminated Ashraf Mahmoud Yusef Dahlan, who commanded a platoon in the "Eastern Jabalia" battalion and reportedly led terrorists into Israel during the October 7th events.
On Monday, a further airstrike in Gaza City targeted Mahmoud Otman Abdalla Olwan, described as a commander of a Nukhba unit within the "Western Jabalia" battalion, coordinating operations in the northern region. The military command emphasized that all three individuals were actively involved in planning future attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians and were rebuilding Hamas's capabilities, violating ceasefire agreements.
The IDF stated these precise strikes were carried out to prevent immediate security threats. Units of the IDF's Southern Command remain in their positions to defend the border and prevent any attack attempts.
