Egg Prices to Rise in Israel Starting November 2026

The price of regulated eggs in Israel will increase by approximately 2.1% starting November 1, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security announced Thursday. This adjustment, determined by a periodic price calculation, follows the last update in November 2025 and is described by the ministry as "moderate." The increase translates to an additional 27 to 33 agorot per dozen eggs, depending on size. The maximum consumer price, including VAT, for a dozen medium (M) eggs will rise from 13.13 shekels to 13.40 shekels. A dozen large (L) eggs will increase by 30 agorot, from 14.24 to 14.54 shekels, and extra-large (XL) eggs will go up by 33 agorot, from 15.48 to 15.81 shekels.

According to the ministry, the price update reflects changes in production and marketing costs throughout the value chain, from farmers to distributors and retailers. Factors considered include feed for laying hens, wages, energy, and packaging. The adjustment is part of an automatic mechanism implemented in 2023, which operates based on a fixed, transparent formula and does not require the signatures of the finance and agriculture ministers. Price changes are reviewed quarterly and can be adjusted up or down. An update occurs if the cumulative change since the last adjustment exceeds 3% and at least six months have passed, or if a year has passed and the cumulative change exceeds 1%.
