Egg Prices to Rise in Israel Starting November 2026

The Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security announced on Thursday that the prices of regulated eggs will increase by approximately 2.1%, effective November 1, 2026. This translates to an additional 27-33 agorot per dozen eggs, depending on their size. This moderate increase follows the last price adjustment in November 2025. The update reflects changes in production and marketing costs throughout the supply chain, including feed, labor, energy, and packaging expenses for egg producers, distributors, and retailers.

This price hike for eggs comes shortly after reports that flour prices will also increase by 14% starting this November. One of Israel's two largest milling groups, Mifratz Mills, informed its customers that this decision is a consequence of the intensified war between Russia and Ukraine.

The egg price adjustment is based on a periodic calculation formula that went into effect in 2023. This transparent mechanism allows for price updates quarterly, either up or down, if the cumulative change since the last update exceeds 3%, or if at least six months have passed since the last adjustment and the cumulative change exceeds 1%, or if a year has passed and the cumulative change exceeds 1%. The formula does not require the signatures of the Finance and Agriculture ministers.
