Prices for controlled eggs in Israel are set to increase by approximately 2.1% starting November 1, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security announced Thursday. This marks the first price adjustment in nearly a year. The increase is attributed to rising production and marketing costs, including feed for laying hens, wages, energy, and packaging.
Under the new pricing, a package of 12 medium-sized eggs will cost 13.40 shekels, up from 13.13 shekels. Large eggs will rise from 14.24 to 14.54 shekels, and extra-large eggs will go from 15.48 to 15.81 shekels. This translates to an increase of 27 to 33 agorot per package, depending on egg size.
The price update follows an automatic mechanism implemented in 2023, which allows for periodic price adjustments without requiring ministerial approval. The previous price revision occurred in November 2025.
