צה"ל חיסל ברצועת עזה מחבל שהיה שותף לחטיפתה של נועה ארגמני ממסיבת ה'נובה' ב-7 באוקטובר. ארגמני נחטפה, יחד עם בן זוגה אבינתן אור, בסרטון שזכה לתפוצה רחבה והפך לסמל של מתקפת הטרור. לאחר 246 ימים בשבי, שוחררה ארגמני במבצע 'ארנון' יחד עם שלושה חטופים נוספים: אלמוג מאיר ג'אן, אנדריי קוזלוב ושלומי זיו. צה"ל ממשיך במאמציו ברצועת עזה לחיסול מחבלים שהיו מעורבים בטבח ובחטיפות ב-7 באוקטובר.
