Heatwave Intensifies Across Israel with Extreme Heat in Northern and Southern Regions

Following the dispersal of morning clouds, Israel is experiencing a rise in temperatures today, Thursday, with levels slightly above seasonal averages, especially in the mountainous and inland areas. Heat stress is expected to intensify across most regions, with northern winds strengthening along the coastal plain from midday onward. Extreme heat stress is forecasted for the southern Golan Heights and its slopes, northern valleys, Lower Galilee, Kinneret Basin, Dead Sea coast, Jordan Valley, and Arava. Heavy heat stress will affect the northern Golan, Upper and Western Galilee, Carmel, Menashe Heights, coastal plain, Shephelah, central mountains, northern Negev, Judean Desert, and eastern and southern Negev.

Tonight will be partly cloudy. On Friday, temperatures will rise further across most areas, remaining hotter than usual and dry in the mountains and inland, while the coastal plain will experience cooler conditions. Extreme heat stress will continue in most regions. Saturday will see a slight temperature drop mainly in the mountains and inland, with some relief from the heat stress, though it will remain heavy to extreme in many areas. On Sunday, temperatures will continue to decline, especially in the mountains and inland, returning to seasonal norms.
