Israel Faces Intensifying Heatwave With Extreme Temperatures Inland

Following the morning cloud dispersal, Israel will experience pleasant weather today with a slight temperature rise in the mountains and inland areas. Heat stress will intensify, especially in the interior regions. On Thursday, August 20, temperatures will increase further, exceeding seasonal norms mainly in the mountains and inland, with heat burdens worsening across most areas. Northern winds will strengthen along the coastal plain from midday.

Friday, August 21, will see a slight additional warming, particularly inland and in the mountains, where conditions will be hotter and drier than usual. The coastal plain will remain mild. Heat stress will escalate to heavy or extreme levels in most parts of the country.

By Saturday, August 22, mornings will start cloudy, becoming partly cloudy to clear later. Temperatures will drop mainly in the mountains and inland, providing some relief from the heat stress, though heavy to extreme heat burdens will persist in most areas. Temperature ranges include Tel Aviv and Haifa at 26° to 31°C, Jerusalem 21° to 31°C, Ashdod 25° to 31°C, Beersheba 22° to 34°C, Ashkelon 26° to 30°C, Mitzpe Ramon 20° to 31°C, and Afula 23° to 34°C.
