Israel Faces Rising Temperatures and Extreme Heat Over Weekend
Israel is experiencing a continuing heatwave with temperatures rising slightly on Thursday, exceeding seasonal averages especially in the mountainous regions and inland areas. Heat stress is intensifying across most parts of the country. After morning cloud dispersal, the weather will clear up, with northern winds strengthening along the coastal plain by afternoon.
The heatwave is expected to peak on Friday, marking the start of a three-day period of heavy to extreme heat stress. Although a slight temperature drop is forecast for Saturday, increased humidity will maintain the sensation of oppressive heat. The temperature decrease will be most noticeable in the mountains and inland, providing only mild relief from the heat stress, which will remain severe to extreme in most areas.
Forecasted temperatures include Jerusalem at 19-32°C, Tel Aviv-Yafo 25-31°C, Haifa 24-31°C, Kiryat Shmona 21-37°C, Safed 18-34°C, Tiberias 22-38°C, Ashdod 24-31°C, Beersheba 22-34°C, Mitzpe Ramon 20-34°C, and Eilat reaching up to 40°C.
