Israel Faces Intensifying Heatwave with Extreme Temperatures Across Most Regions
Following the dispersal of morning clouds, Israel will experience clear and warm weather today with a slight rise in temperatures, particularly in the mountainous and inland areas where heat levels will exceed seasonal norms. Heat stress will increase further across most parts of the country. From midday, northern winds will strengthen along the coastal plain.
The heatwave is expected to intensify on Friday, August 21, with temperatures climbing further mainly in the mountains and inland, making conditions hotter and drier than usual. Coastal areas will remain cooler, but heat stress will become heavy to extreme in most regions.
On Saturday, August 22, the morning will start cloudy, clearing to partly cloudy skies later. Temperatures will drop mainly in the mountains and inland, providing some relief from the heat, though heavy to extreme heat stress will persist in most areas.
By Sunday, August 23, after morning cloud dispersal, the weather will be pleasant with a further slight temperature decrease, returning to seasonal averages especially in the mountains and inland. Heat stress will ease further.
Forecasted temperatures include Tel Aviv and Haifa ranging between 26° and 31°C, Jerusalem and Beersheba between 23° and 34°C, Ashdod and Ashkelon 25° to 31°C, Mitzpe Ramon 19° to 31°C, and Afula reaching up to 36°C.
