Alon Ziv Appointed Head Coach of Ironi Tiberias Ahead of Premier League Season

Ironi Tiberias has officially appointed Alon Ziv as their new head coach as the team prepares for the upcoming Premier League season. The club, recovering from a 3-0 loss to Maccabi Petah Tikva in the Toto Cup ranking matches, will face Hapoel Petah Tikva in their opening round this Saturday. Ziv, formerly the coach of Maccabi Jaffa, will work alongside Moti Krispil, who, despite lacking a professional coaching certificate, will continue to play a significant role in guiding the team and shaping its professional direction.

The club decided to move on from Eliran Hodeda, who will not return as coach this season due to awaiting a hearing at the Sports Arbitration Tribunal over alleged involvement in a match-fixing scandal. Ziv emerged as the leading candidate and ultimately signed with Ironi Tiberias. In recent years, Ziv has coached in the National League and began this season with Maccabi Jaffa. Other coaching names mentioned in the context of the league include Kostika, who coached Hadera late in the 2024/25 season and has Premier League experience, and Weizinger, a long-time youth coach for Maccabi Haifa and currently coaching M.S. Ashdod in the National League, who was linked to Hapoel Afula.
