Israeli Man Dies in Finland After Being Hit by Vehicle During Solo Bike Ride

A 66-year-old Israeli man died in Finland after being struck and run over by a passing vehicle while cycling alone. His body was found on the roadside on Sunday, about a week after contact with him was lost. The international unit of ZAKA is coordinating with Finnish authorities and the Israeli Foreign Ministry to manage the necessary procedures and arrange for the man's body to be returned to Israel for burial. ZAKA's Operations Deputy Director, Chaim Wingarten, stated they are supporting the family and working to ensure a respectful and timely repatriation.

This incident follows another recent tragedy involving an Israeli family abroad, where a four-year-old child from Jerusalem drowned in a pool in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Local authorities had requested an autopsy, which was ultimately not performed before the body was released, according to ZAKA.
