Israeli Cyclist Found Dead in Finland After Week-Long Search

The body of a 66-year-old Israeli man was found by the roadside in Finland after he went missing for a week during a solo cycling trip. According to local police reports, he was likely struck by a passing vehicle. Upon receiving the notification, ZAKA's international unit, in coordination with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, began working with the family and Finnish authorities to manage the necessary procedures and arrange for the repatriation of the body to Israel for burial. ZAKA's Operations Deputy Director, Chaim Wingarten, stated, "From the moment we received the report, we have been supporting the family and coordinating with Finnish authorities to complete the required processes. We will do everything possible to bring the deceased to Israel for a timely and dignified burial."
