Israel Faces Extreme Heatwaves with Rain Forecast Across Northern and Central Regions

Israel is currently experiencing heavy to extreme heatwaves across most regions, with temperatures slightly above normal in the mountains and inland areas, while the coastal plain remains mild. Today will be partly cloudy with a slight temperature drop, especially in the highlands and inland, but heat stress will continue in many areas.

Looking ahead, on Friday, August 14, temperatures will fall to seasonal norms with partly cloudy skies. Light drizzle or local rain is expected in the northern parts and coastal plain during the morning, increasing to light local showers in the north and central highlands by afternoon. This will bring some relief from the heat.

On Saturday, August 15, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear with little temperature change. Local rain showers are possible mainly in northern and eastern areas from the afternoon onward. Sunday, August 16, will also be partly cloudy to clear with similar temperatures and a chance of local rain and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in eastern Israel.

Temperature ranges for major cities include Tel Aviv-Jaffa at 26 to 32 degrees Celsius, Haifa 27 to 30, Jerusalem 21 to 33, Ashdod 26 to 31, Beersheba 24 to 35, Ashkelon 27 to 30, Mitzpe Ramon 20 to 32, and Afula 26 to 35 degrees Celsius.
