Israel Faces Above-Normal Heat with Slight Cooling and Local Rain Expected

Israel is experiencing hotter-than-usual weather, particularly in the mountainous and inland regions, while the coastal plain remains mild. Today will be mostly clear with a slight temperature drop mainly in the mountains and inland areas, but heat levels will still be above average and dry in those regions. Heavy to extreme heat stress will continue across most parts of the country.

Looking ahead, Thursday (August 13) will see partly cloudy skies and a further slight temperature decrease, especially in the mountains and inland, though conditions will remain somewhat warmer than usual there and mild along the coast. Heat stress will persist at heavy to extreme levels nationwide.

On Friday (August 14), partly cloudy weather will continue with temperatures dropping to seasonal norms and a noticeable easing of heat stress. Light local rain or drizzle is possible mainly in northern and central Israel.

Saturday (August 15) will remain partly cloudy with little temperature change, but heavy to extreme heat stress will return in most areas. Local rain showers may occur in the afternoon, particularly in eastern parts of the country.

Temperature ranges for key cities include Tel Aviv-Jaffa at 26°-32°C, Haifa 26°-31°C, Jerusalem 23°-33°C, Ashdod 25°-32°C, Beersheba 23°-38°C, Ashkelon 26°-31°C, Mitzpe Ramon 23°-34°C, and Afula 23°-37°C.
