Heatwave Breaks as Temperatures Drop and Rain Arrives in Northern Israel

After several days of intense heat, Israel is set to experience a significant weather shift this weekend with cooler temperatures and some rainfall. On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy with a slight temperature drop, especially in the mountains and inland areas, though heavy to extreme heat will persist in most parts of the country. Nighttime may bring light drizzle along the coast.

Friday will see partly cloudy skies and a further temperature decrease to seasonal norms. Light rain showers are expected in the morning along the northern coast and northern regions, with additional light rain possible in the afternoon across northern and central mountainous areas. This marks a relief from the recent heatwave.

On Saturday, the weather will remain partly cloudy with temperatures steady. Localized rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast mainly in northern and eastern Israel during the afternoon. This marks the first occurrence of thunderstorms this season in these areas.

Temperature forecasts for Thursday include highs ranging from 33 degrees Celsius in Jerusalem to 41 degrees in Eilat, with lows between 20 and 30 degrees depending on the region. The expected weather changes provide a welcome break from the recent oppressive heat across the country.
