Heatwave Persists in Israel Despite Slight Temperature Drop, Red Alerts Issued

On Wednesday, Israel will experience mostly clear skies with a slight decrease in temperatures, particularly in the mountainous regions and inland areas. Despite this drop, temperatures will remain above average and dry in these locations. Along the coastal strip, the weather will continue to be humid. Heavy to extreme heat stress conditions are expected to persist across most parts of the country.

The Meteorological Service has issued a red heat stress alert for several areas including the Beit She'an Valley, the Sea of Galilee Basin, the Jordan Valley, southern Judean Desert, the Dead Sea, and the Arava region. On Thursday, the weather will be clear to partly cloudy with a further slight temperature decrease, mainly in the mountains and inland. However, conditions will still be hotter than usual and dry, with continued heavy to extreme heat stress.

Forecasted temperatures for Wednesday include Jerusalem at 23-33°C, Tel Aviv-Yafo at 25-33°C, Haifa at 24-32°C, Kiryat Shmona at 23-37°C, Safed at 22-32°C, Tiberias at 24-38°C, Ashdod at 24-34°C, Beersheba at 24-37°C, Mitzpe Ramon at 25-36°C, and Eilat at 30-42°C.
