Israel Faces Weather Shift with Cooler Temperatures and Possible Rain This Weekend

After several days of extreme heat in Israel, a notable change in the weather is expected to begin Thursday. Meteorologist Boaz Dayan explained that temperatures will start to drop gradually, with a further decline anticipated by Friday. This cooling trend may bring localized light rain or drizzle in some parts of the country over the weekend.

Despite the upcoming shift, Wednesday will still be hot, with temperatures reaching around 35 degrees Celsius in Jerusalem, approximately 37 degrees in the Shfela region, and up to 43 degrees in Eilat, accompanied by heavy to extreme heat conditions. On Friday, skies will become partly cloudy, with increased cloud cover in the morning especially along the coast, in the mountains, and northern areas, potentially causing light precipitation.

Saturday is also expected to have relatively heavy morning cloudiness, though temperatures will remain warm with moderate to heavy heat stress during the afternoon. However, this relief is expected to be short-lived, as temperatures are forecast to rise again early next week. The meteorologist emphasized that while the weekend may offer some respite from the heat, the return of warmer weather is imminent.
