Three Young Men Charged with Arson in Tiberias and Grenade Attack on Jafnika Branch in Kiryat Ono

Two young men aged 18 and 22 from Bat Yam have been charged with throwing a fragmentation grenade at a Jafnika chain store in Kiryat Ono on July 13. The attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. when the suspects, wearing masks, arrived on a motorcycle and threw the grenade at the store. This incident was part of a wave of grenade attacks targeting Jafnika branches across Israel. Police investigations revealed the attack stemmed from criminal disputes fueling recent nationwide violence. Using technological means, investigators identified and arrested the suspects within days, seizing evidence and clothing linking them to the crime.

Separately, a third young man aged 19 from Lod, along with the two from Bat Yam, faces charges related to the arson of the "Magia" event hall in Tiberias. According to the indictment filed by the Northern District Prosecutor's Office, the trio conspired to break into and set fire to the hall. They prepared by bringing gasoline and a crowbar, and altered their vehicle's license plate with tape to avoid detection. Two masked suspects smashed the glass door, entered, poured gasoline, and ignited the fire while the third waited in the car. After fleeing, they removed the tape from the license plate. The Northern District Police are handling the investigation.
