Two Young Men from Bat Yam Charged for Grenade Attack on Japnika Branch in Kiryat Ono

Israeli police announced on Monday that they have solved the case involving a fragmentation grenade thrown at a Japnika branch in Kiryat Ono last month. An 18-year-old resident of Bat Yam was arrested two days after the incident, followed by the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect from the same city several days later. Searches conducted at their homes uncovered evidence and clothing linking them to the attack. According to the police statement, an indictment has been filed against both suspects.

The investigation revealed that on July 13 at around 2:00 a.m., the two suspects arrived at the location on a two-wheeled vehicle, threw the fragmentation grenade at the entrance of the business, and fled the scene. Police indicated that the motive behind the attack was a conflict between criminal elements. Despite attempts by the suspects to conceal their tracks, investigators from the Central Unit managed to identify and locate them.
