Two Suspects Repeatedly Throw Grenade at Israeli Store Before Explosion

Security cameras captured two masked suspects repeatedly throwing a stun grenade at a Japnika store in Kiryat Ono on July 13 around 2:00 a.m. The grenade failed to detonate on the first two attempts. One suspect then approached, picked up the grenade, and threw it again, causing it to explode. Both suspects fled the scene, and no injuries were reported, though the store sustained damage.

The Tel Aviv District Central Unit launched an investigation, suspecting the attack was linked to recent criminal disputes and violence across Israel. Investigators used technological means to track the suspects, who attempted to cover their tracks. Several days later, police arrested two men, aged 18 and 22 from Bat Yam, on suspicion of involvement. Evidence and clothing items connecting them to the attack were found during searches of their homes.

Their detention was extended multiple times, and after the investigation, indictments were filed against them. They are expected to be formally charged with the grenade attack this Thursday. Earlier on the same day, the two were also charged alongside a 19-year-old from Lod for arson at an event hall in Tiberias.
