Two Arrested for Grenade Attack on Gapnika Branch in Kiryat Ono Amid Crime Feud

Two young men from Bat Yam, aged 18 and 22, are facing indictment for throwing a fragmentation grenade at a Gapnika branch in Kiryat Ono on July 13 around 2 a.m. The attack is linked to an ongoing conflict between the Mosli and Jarushi crime organizations. Security footage shows two masked suspects arriving on a two-wheeled vehicle, throwing the grenade at the store entrance, and fleeing before it exploded, causing property damage but no injuries.

The investigation was conducted by the Tel Aviv District Unit, which used technological means to identify and track the suspects despite their attempts to conceal their identities. The first suspect was arrested on July 16, followed by the second a few days later. Searches of their homes uncovered evidence and clothing tying them to the attack. Their detention has been extended multiple times by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed against them, and indictments are expected soon. Tel Aviv District Commander Chief Superintendent Haim Saragoff described the incident as part of a series of serious violent events causing property damage and undermining public security. He emphasized the police's commitment to protecting lives and ensuring citizen safety, warning criminals that the investigation is ongoing and that full legal consequences will be pursued.
