Two Young Men Charged for Grenade Attack on Japanese Restaurant in Kiryat Ono
The prosecution filed charges on Thursday against two young men from Bat Yam, Nehorai Chabez (18) and Netanel Avodi (22), for throwing a grenade at a Japanese restaurant branch in Kiryat Ono about a month ago. According to the indictment, the two arrived at the restaurant late at night riding electric bicycles and repeatedly threw the grenade at the building until it exploded, after which they fled the scene.
The indictment accuses both of severe intentional injury, damage using an explosive device, and carrying and transporting weapons committed jointly. Additionally, Avodi faces an extra charge of obstructing justice. The prosecution requested to extend their detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings, noting that their conduct during the investigation, including initial lies and subsequent silence, increases their danger, as the motive behind their actions remains unclear.
