Two Charged for Throwing Grenade at Japanese Restaurant in Kiryat Ono

The State Prosecutor's Office filed charges against 22-year-old Netanel Avodi and 18-year-old Nehorai Chabaz, both residents of Bat Yam, for their involvement in a violent incident at a Japanese restaurant branch in Kiryat Ono. The incident occurred on July 13 around 2:00 a.m., when the two men, wearing masks and arriving on electric bicycles, threw a grenade towards the entrance of the "Japnika" restaurant.

Security footage revealed that the suspects attempted multiple times to throw the grenade, which did not explode on the first two tries. On the third attempt, after one of the suspects approached, picked up the grenade, and threw it again, it detonated. The explosion caused damage to the restaurant building as well as to nearby shops and businesses. No injuries were reported. Following the blast, the suspects fled the scene. The indictment was submitted to the Tel Aviv District Court.
