Two Teens Charged for Arson at Givatayim Jafnika Branch Caught on Camera

Two 18-year-old suspects from Rehovot are set to be indicted for torching a Jafnika branch in Givatayim last month, an incident captured on surveillance footage. The arson occurred around 4 a.m. when two masked individuals arrived at the branch. One poured an accelerant at the entrance and ignited the fire before fleeing on an electric scooter with his accomplice. Although no injuries were reported, the fire caused significant damage to the building and property.

The Tel Aviv District Police Central Unit investigated the case, linking the attack to ongoing criminal disputes amid recent nationwide violence. Jafnika owner Barak Abramov is not suspected of any involvement. The first suspect was arrested about two and a half weeks ago, with the second detained days later. Police seized evidence and clothing connecting them to the crime during home searches. Their detention has been extended, and indictments were filed against them on Wednesday.

Additionally, on Thursday, indictments will be filed against two other young men, aged 18 and 22 from Bat Yam, accused of throwing stun grenades at a Jafnika branch in Kiryat Ono. Surveillance showed them throwing two duds and a third grenade that exploded. These suspects were previously charged alongside a 19-year-old from Lod for arson at a Tiberias event hall last Monday.
