Two Teens Arrested for Arson Attack on Japnika Branch in Gush Dan

A significant development has occurred in the arson attack on a Japnika restaurant branch in Gush Dan. On July 12, around 4 a.m., two masked youths on a two-wheeled vehicle allegedly poured an inflammable substance on the front of the Japnika branch in Givatayim, set it on fire, and fled the scene.

Following a police investigation by the Tel Aviv District Unit, which employed technological means to track the suspects who attempted to cover their tracks, the first suspect, an 18-year-old from Rehovot, was arrested on July 27. A few days later, a second 18-year-old from the same city was also detained. Searches of their homes uncovered evidence and clothing items linking them to the arson, according to police statements.

The suspects' detention has been extended multiple times by the court. Yesterday, after the investigation concluded, prosecution statements were filed in preparation for indictments against the two young men for the alleged offenses. Police noted that this case's resolution follows the solving of another incident involving a grenade thrown at a Japnika branch in Kiryat Ono.
