Israeli Meteorological Service Warns of Extreme Heat and Dangerous Sea Conditions During Bein Hazmanim

The Israeli Meteorological Service issued a yellow warning for high and hazardous sea conditions along the Mediterranean coast from the evening of August 8 until the morning of August 9. Wave heights are expected to range between 70 and 110 centimeters, posing risks for swimmers.

In addition to the dangerous sea, a significant heatwave is forecasted across Israel in the coming days. Temperatures will rise above seasonal averages, especially in the mountains and inland areas, with heavy to extreme heat burdens expected. Coastal plains will experience milder conditions but remain warm.

On Sunday morning, the weather started partly cloudy but will clear up later, with temperatures climbing mainly in the mountains and inland. Monday will see a slight temperature increase, remaining hot and dry inland and in the mountains, while the coast will be cooler. Tuesday is expected to be mostly clear and continue the trend of above-average heat and dryness.

Specific temperature forecasts include Jerusalem ranging from 20 to 33 degrees Celsius, Tel Aviv 26 to 32, Beersheba 24 to 34, Haifa 26 to 31, Tiberias 25 to 36, Safed 23 to 37, and Eilat 30 to 41 degrees Celsius. Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution due to the extreme heat and hazardous sea conditions during the Bein Hazmanim holiday period.
