Israel Faces Rising Heatwave With Peak Temperatures Up to 42°C This Week

Israel is experiencing a continuing rise in temperatures across the country, expected to persist through the week. Sunday will start with partial cloudiness but clear up later, with temperatures climbing especially in the mountainous and inland areas, reaching slightly above seasonal averages. Heat intensity will increase notably.

By Monday, conditions will become hotter than usual and very dry in the inland regions. The heatwave will peak on Tuesday, with forecasted highs of 33°C in Tel Aviv and Haifa, 34°C in Jerusalem, and an extreme 42°C in Eilat. From Thursday onward, temperatures are expected to gradually decline but will remain above typical mid-August levels.

Specific temperature forecasts include Jerusalem at 20-32°C, Tel Aviv-Yafo 26-32°C, Haifa 26-31°C, Kiryat Shmona 24-38°C, Safed 22-33°C, Tiberias 25-37°C, Ashdod 25-32°C, Beersheba 24-35°C, Mitzpe Ramon 22-34°C, and Eilat 29-41°C. Residents are advised to prepare for significant heat and dryness in the coming days.
