Iran Denies Any Deal to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Despite Trump Claims

Following U.S. President Donald Trump's assertion that a framework agreement had been reached to immediately and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, senior Iranian officials have strongly denied such claims. Sources close to Iran's leadership told the state-affiliated Fars News Agency that no agreement exists regarding the reopening of the strategic waterway, labeling reports of a deal as false. A military official further clarified that as long as what Iran perceives as hostile American actions continue, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed. Ship movements will only be permitted along declared routes and with approval from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' naval forces. Additionally, Mohammad Marandi, a former advisor to Iran's negotiation team with the U.S. and a regime insider, mocked President Trump on social media, calling the news "fake" and stating that Trump had retreated once again.
