Iran Denies Any Agreement to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Amid US Negotiations
Iranian news agency Fars reported that a source close to the US-Iran nuclear negotiation team denied any agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The report called recent news about such an agreement false. A senior Iranian military official emphasized that as long as hostile actions by the United States continue, the Strait of Hormuz will remain blocked. The official added that maritime passage will only be allowed through designated routes approved by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy.
