Trump Says Netanyahu Does Not Dictate to Him Amid Iran Talks

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to the United States for a meeting with President Donald Trump, the American president spoke candidly with reporters aboard Air Force One. Trump addressed the ongoing tensions with Iran, stating that Iran's willingness to engage in talks stems from its weakened position. He explained, "The only reason Iran wants to talk is because they are not doing well. We have time, and there is a good chance something will happen in the talks. If not, we will return to what we were doing before." Trump also claimed that Iran had suffered significant setbacks over the past two weeks and that they had politely requested a halt to hostilities and a meeting, saying, "They asked us very nicely, 'Please stop, let's meet.'" Regarding his relationship with Netanyahu, Trump emphasized his independence by saying, "He does not tell me what to do."
