Netanyahu Mourns Zehava Shaul, Praises Her Unwavering Maternal Love

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah expressed their condolences on the passing of Zehava Shaul, mother of late Staff Sergeant Oron Shaul. Netanyahu highlighted his personal connection with the Shaul family over more than a decade, during which he closely followed Zehava's relentless efforts to bring her son Oron back home. Despite the loss of her husband Hertzel, Zehava continued her struggle fueled by boundless maternal love.

Netanyahu recalled the emotional moment when Oron was finally returned to Israel for burial, a process facilitated by the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet after many years. He shared that he and Zehava recited together a verse symbolizing hope and the return of children to their land, reflecting her enduring hope throughout the ordeal.
