Zehava Shaul, Mother of Fallen Soldier Oron Shaul, Passes Away After Years of Struggle

Zehava Shaul, mother of Staff Sergeant Oron Shaul whose body was held by Hamas in Gaza for over a decade, has died, prompting deep mourning in the Jordan Valley and across Israel. The Jordan Valley Regional Council expressed sorrow, describing her as a noble woman who fought tirelessly for more than ten years to bring her son home to Israel. Zehava was laid to rest in Poria Illit cemetery beside her late husband Hertzel Shaul, who passed away while still advocating for their son's return, and next to Oron Shaul's grave. The family recently marked the first anniversary of Oron's burial in their community. Idan Greenbaum, head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, who closely supported the family throughout their ordeal, extended his heartfelt condolences and embraced Zehava's sons, Ofek and Aviram, during this difficult time.
